Hymn of Heaven Project
Timeline:
June 5 at 7:30 p.m. Rehearsal 1. This is an optional rehearsal in which we will focus on mastering the pitches and rhythms. If you feel confident in your sight reading ability feel free to skip this rehearsal and just learn the song on your own.
June 20 at 7:30 p.m. Rehearsal 2. You must attend this rehearsal. You must have the pitches and rhythms mastered and the song memorized before this rehearsal.
June 21 Recording.
- Soprano 9:00-10:30
- Alto 11:00-12:30
- Tenor 1:30-3:00
- Bass 3:30-5:00
June 22 at 6:00 p.m. Music Video Shoot. The music video will be filmed outside weather permitting. More details about the music video shoot will be given after you sign up. (please note that depending on the weather, the video shoot might be bumped to earlier in the afternoon)
Expectations:
- This is an Anabaptist choir. You are expected to be a member in good standing at a Conservative Anabaptist church.
- Pray that the project can lead people to worship Jesus.
- Spend time meditating on the words of the song before hand.
- Have the pitches and rhythms mastered and memorized before Rehearsal 2.
- Arrive at all appointments 10 minutes early.
- Sing with enthusiasm.
- Display a positive attitude throughout the project.
- Respond quickly and positively to direction throughout the project.
- Follow the dress code for the music video shoot.
Dress Code:
- long jeans or khakis
- t-shirt, golf shirt or casual button up shirt
- shoes
- no hats
- long skirt
- modest top
- shoes or sandals
- hair neatly veiled
- no hats
We want as much white as possible. Women, please wear only white. (no accent colours) Men wear white shirts (preferably more casual type) and as light pants as possible. If you have white pants that's great. If not, light wash jeans or light tan is acceptable. See pictures below.
Brown, white, or gray shoes are acceptable for men and women.
Outfit must be approved before the project. Details to follow.
Location:
The rehearsal, recording, and filming will all take place near Allenford, Ontario.
Music difficulty:
You may be wondering how difficult the song "Hymn of Heaven" is. It will be similar in difficulty to "Jehovah" by The Drudge Family & Friends. You can check that one out on my YouTube channel for reference.
